Halston began his ascent up the fashion ladder as an assistant to designers Charles James and Lilly Daché, working his way through Bergdorf Goodman and later onto his own boutique. The work is reported to begin production by the end of this year under the direction of Dan Minahan, who co-wrote the script with James Lecesne. Based on the life of legendary fashion designer Roy Halston Frowick, "Simply Halston" will star Alec Baldwin in the title role, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
